1. Kezdetben volt az Ige, és az Ige Istennél volt, és Isten volt az Ige.
3. Minden általa lett, és nélküle semmi sem lett, ami létrejött.
13. Akik nem vérbõl, sem a testnek akaratából, sem a férfiúnak indulatjából, hanem Istentõl születtek.
6. Akkor pára szállt fel a földről, és mindenütt átitatta a termőföld felszínét.
7. Azután megformálta az Úristen az embert a föld porából, és élet leheletét lehelte orrába. Így lett az ember élőlénnyé.
21. Mély álmot bocsátott azért az Úristen az emberre, és az elaludt. Akkor kivette az egyik oldalbordáját, és húst tett a helyére.
22. Az emberből kivett oldalbordát asszonnyá formálta az Úristen, és odavitte az emberhez.

1 Oh szünjetek meg hát az emberben [bízni], a kinek [egy] lehellet van orrában, mert hát ugyan mire becsülhetõ õ?
22 Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?
22 Az Úr az õ útának kezdetéül szerzett engem; az õ munkái elõtt régen.
23 Örök idõktõl fogva felkenettem, kezdettõl, a föld kezdetétõl fogva.
25 Minekelőtte a hegyek leülepedtek volna, a halmoknak előtte születtem.
26 Mikor még nem csinálta vala a földet és a mezőket, és a világ porának kezdetét.
27 Mikor készíté az eget, ott valék; mikor felveté a mélységek színén a kerekséget;
28 Mikor megerősíté a felhőket ott fenn, mikor erősekké lőnek a mélységeknek forrásai;
29 Mikor felveté a tengernek határit, hogy a vizek át ne hágják az ő parancsolatját, mikor megállapítá e földnek fundamentomait:
30 Mellette valék mint kézmíves, és gyönyörűsége valék mindennap, játszva ő előtte minden időben.

1 Vala pedig a farizeusok közt egy ember, a neve Nikodémus, a zsidók főembere:

2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?

15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace,
16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:
1 Gyermekeim,
13 ...megismertétek azt, aki kezdettől fogva van. ... megismertétek az Atyát.
16 Mert mindaz, ami a világban van, a test kívánsága, és a szemek kívánsága, és az élet kérkedése nem az Atyától van, hanem a világból.
17 És a világ elmúlik, és annak kívánsága is; de aki az Isten akaratát cselekszi, megmarad örökké.
20 ... néktek kenetetek van a Szenttől, és mindent tudtok.
24 Amit azért ti kezdettől hallottatok, az maradjon meg bennetek. Ha bennetek marad az, amit kezdettől fogva hallottatok, ti is az Atyában és a Fiúban maradtok.
1 My little children,
13 …ye have known him that is from the beginning. … ye have known the Father.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
20 …ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
A végtelennek nincs kezdete. A kezdet szót itt az egyetlen jelölésére használják, azaz Isten és ember örök igazságára és egységére, a világegyetemet beleértve.
The infinite has no beginning. This word beginning is employed to signify the only, — that is, the eternal verity and unity of God and man, including the universe.
…a spirituális valódi embernek nincs születése, nincs anyagi élete és nincs halála.
…the spiritual real man has no birth, no material life, and no death.
Minthogy az ember sohasem születik és sohasem hal meg, Isten kormányzása alatt az örök Tudományban lehetetlen volna az ember számára, hogy lebukjon magas rangjáról.
Never born and never dying, it were impossible for man, under the government of God in eternal Science, to fall from his high estate.
Előbb vagy utóbb megtanuljuk, hogy az ember véges képességeinek béklyóját az a káprázat kovácsolja, hogy az ember a Lélek helyett a testben él, a Szellem helyett az anyagban.
Ha a Szellem minden, és mindenütt jelen van, akkor mi az anyag, és hol van?
Sooner or later we shall learn that the fetters of man's finite capacity are forged by the illusion that he lives in body instead of in Soul, in matter instead of in Spirit.
If Spirit is all and is everywhere, what and where is matter?
Az alvás és a mesmerizmus megmagyarázza az anyagi érzék mitikus természetét. Az alvás az anyagi érzéket feledésként, semmiként, illúzióként vagy álomként mutatja meg.
Sleep and mesmerism explain the mythical nature of material sense. Sleep shows material sense as either oblivion, nothingness, or an illusion or dream.
Amikor ébren vagyunk, az anyag fájdalmairól és örömeiről álmodunk. Ki mondja azt, habár nem érti a Keresztény Tudományt, hogy ez az álom – nem pedig az álmodó – lehet a halandó ember? Ki mondhatna racionálisan mást, amikor az álom testben és gondolatban érintetlenül hagyja a halandó embert, holott az úgynevezett álmodó eszméletlen? A helyes érveléshez egyetlen tényt tartsunk észben, mégpedig a lelki létezést. Valójában nincs más létezés, mivel az Élet nem egyesíthető hasonlótlanságával, a halandósággal.
When we are awake, we dream of the pains and pleasures of matter. Who will say, even though he does not understand Christian Science, that this dream — rather than the dreamer — may not be mortal man? Who can rationally say otherwise, when the dream leaves mortal man intact in body and thought, although the so-called dreamer is unconscious? For right reasoning there should be but one fact before the thought, namely, spiritual existence. In reality there is no other existence, since Life cannot be united to its unlikeness, mortality.
Minden emberi diszharmóniának az Ádám-álom volt a szülője, a mély alvás, amelyből az a téveszme származott, hogy élet és értelem az anyagból ered és abba tér vissza.
The parent of all human discord was the Adam-dream, the deep sleep, in which originated the delusion that life and intelligence proceeded from and passed into matter.
A halandó életben való emberi tapasztalat, amely egy petéből indul ki, megegyezik Jób tapasztalatával, amikor azt mondja: „Az asszonytól született ember rövid életű és háborúságokban bővelkedő.” A halandóknak fel kell emelkedniük abból az ötletből, hogy az anyagi élet a minden-a-mindenekben. Human experience in mortal life, which starts from an egg, corresponds with that of Job, when he says, "Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble." Mortals must emerge from this notion of material life as all-in-all. They must peck open their shells with Christian Science, and look outward and upward.
Minthogy a halandó embernek és a bűnnek is van kezdete, következésképpen végüknek is kell, hogy legyen, míg a bűntelen, igazi ember örökkévaló. As both mortal man and sin have a beginning, they must consequently have an end, while the sinless, real man is eternal. Eve's declaration, "I have gotten a man from the Lord," supposes God to be the author of sin and sin's progeny. This false sense of existence is fratricidal. In the words of Jesus, it (evil, devil) is "a murderer from the beginning."
Jézus jobban határozta meg Istennek ezt az ellentétjét és annak teremtményeit, mint mi tudjuk, amikor azt mondta: „Hazug, és a hazugság atyja.” Jézus azt is mondta: „Nem én választottalak-é ki titeket, a tizenkettőt? és egy közületek ördög?" Jesus defined this opposite of God and His creation better than we can, when he said, "He is a liar, and the father of it." Jesus also said, "Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?" This he said of Judas, one of Adam's race. Jesus never intimated that God made a devil, but he did say, "Ye are of your father, the devil." All these sayings were to show that mind in matter is the author of itself, and is simply a falsity and illusion.
Ádám, akit a Szentírás a porból formáltként mutat be, egy szemléltető lecke az emberi elme számára. Az anyagi érzékek, mint Ádám, az anyagban erednek és a porba térnek vissza - értelem nélkülinek bizonyulnak. Adam, represented in the Scriptures as formed from dust, is an object-lesson for the human mind. The material senses, like Adam, originate in matter and return to dust, — are proved non-intelligent. They go out as they came in, for they are still the error, not the truth of being.
Amikor levetjük a hamis érzetet az igazért, és látjuk, hogy a bűnnek és a halandóságnak sem Alapelve, sem állandósága nincs, megtudjuk, hogy a bűnnek és a halandóságnak nincs tényleges eredete vagy jogos létezése. Azok őshonos semmik, amelyekből a tévedés a teremtést szimulálná a porból formált emberen keresztül.
Az Isteni Tudomány nem tölt új bort régi tömlőkbe, nem helyezi a Lelket az anyagba, sem a végtelent a végesbe. Az anyagról alkotott hamis nézeteink megsemmisülnek, amikor felfogjuk a Szellem tényeit. A régi hiedelmet ki kell űzni, különben az új eszme elforgácsolódik és elvész az ihlet, hogy álláspontunkat megváltoztassuk. Most, csakúgy mint régen, az Igazság kiűzi a gonoszokat és meggyógyítja a betegeket.
When we put off the false sense for the true, and see that sin and mortality have neither Principle nor permanency, we shall learn that sin and mortality are without actual origin or rightful existence. They are native nothingness, out of which error would simulate creation through a man formed from dust.
Divine Science does not put new wine into old bottles, Soul into matter, nor the infinite into the finite. Our false views of matter perish as we grasp the facts of Spirit. The old belief must be cast out or the new idea will be spilled, and the inspiration, which is to change our standpoint, will be lost. Now, as of old, Truth casts out evils and heals the sick.
A születés, romlás és a halál a dolgok anyagi érzetéből fakad, nem pedig a szellemiből, mert az utóbbiban az Élet nem azokból a dolgokból áll, melyeket az ember eszik. Az anyag nem változtathatja meg azt az örök tényt, hogy az ember azért létezik, mert Isten létezik. Semmi sem új a Szellem számára.
Birth, decay, and death arise from the material sense of things, not from the spiritual, for in the latter Life consisteth not of the things which a man eateth. Matter cannot change the eternal fact that man exists because God exists. Nothing is new to the infinite Mind.
Ahhoz, hogy megfelelően lásd el az új gyermek vagy az isteni eszme születését, le kell választanod a halandó gondolatot annak anyagi koncepcióiról… Egy szellemi eszmének egyetlen hibaeleme sincs, és ez az igazság megfelelően eltávolít mindent, ami offenzív.
To attend properly the birth of the new child, or divine idea, you should so detach mortal thought from its material conceptions, … A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive.
…az emberi történelemben, amikor a tiltott gyümölcs meghozta saját fajtája szerinti gyümölcseit, a modus operandi megváltoztatására tett sugallat jött - hogy a férfinak nőtől kell születnie, nem pedig a nőt kell ismét a férfiból elvenni.
…in human history, when the forbidden fruit was bringing forth fruit of its own kind, there came a suggestion of change in the modus operandi, — that man should be born of woman, not woman again taken from man.
Egy újabb változás jön majd az ember természetére és eredetére nézve, és ez a felismerés majd megsemmisíti a létezés álmát, helyreállítja a valóságot, bevezeti a Tudományt és a teremtés dicsőséges tényét, hogy mind a férfi, mind a nő Istentől származik, és az Ő örök gyermekei, akik nem kisebb szülőhöz tartoznak.
Another change will come as to the nature and origin of man, and this revelation will destroy the dream of existence, reinstate reality, usher in Science and the glorious fact of creation, that both man and woman proceed from God and are His eternal children, belonging to no lesser parent.
Az Isteni Tudomány az Igazság világosságával oszlatja el a tévedés felhőit, és felfedi a leplet az emberről, mint amely sohasem születik és sohasem hal meg, hanem együttlétezik teremtőjével.
Divine Science rolls back the clouds of error with the light of Truth, and lifts the curtain on man as never born and as never dying, but as coexistent with his creator.
