1. Uram, megvizsgáltál engem, és ismersz.
2. Te ismered ülésemet és felkelésemet, messziről érted gondolatomat.
4. Mikor még nyelvemen sincs a szó, immár egészen érted azt Uram!
7. Hova menjek lelked elől? Orcád elől hova fussak?
9. Ha a hajnal szárnyaira kelnék, és a tenger túlsó szélére szállanék:
10. Ott is a te kezed vezérelne engem, és a te jobbkezed tartana engem.
14. Magasztallak téged, mert félelmesen és csodálatosan teremtettél;
1. O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.
2. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
4. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.
7. Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
9. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
10. Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
14. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

10 Tiszta szívet teremts bennem, oh Isten, és az erős lelket újítsd meg bennem.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
9 monda Illés Elizeusnak: Kérj tőlem, mit cselekedjem veled, mielőtt tőled elragadtatom. És monda Elizeus: Legyen, kérlek, a te benned való léleknek kettős mértéke én rajtam.
10 És ő monda: Nehéz dolgot kértél; mégis, ha majd meglátsz engem, mikor tőled elragadtatom, meglesz, amit [kérsz:] ha pedig [meg] nem [látsz,] nem lesz meg.
11 És lőn, amikor menének és menvén beszélgetének, ímé egy tüzes szekér tüzes lovakkal elválasztá őket egymástól. És felméne Illés a szélvészben az égbe.
12 Elizeus pedig ezt látván, kiált vala: [Édes] atyám, [édes] atyám! Izráel szekerei és lovagjai! És nem látá őt többé. És vevé a maga ruháit, és két részre szakasztá azokat,
13 És felemelé az Illés palástját, amely róla leesett, és visszatért, és megállott a Jordán partján.
14 És vevé az Illés palástját, amely róla leesett, és [azzal] megüté a vizet, és monda: Hol van az Úr, az Illés Istene? És mikor ő is megütötte a vizet, kétfelé válék az; és általméne Elizeus.
15 És mikor látták őt a próféták fiai, akik átellenben Jérikhónál valának, mondának: Az Illés lelke megnyugodott Elizeuson. És eleibe menének néki, és meghajták magokat ő előtte a földig;
9 Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.
10 And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so.
11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.
13 He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan;
14 And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the Lord God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over.
15 And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.
14 Jézus pedig megtére a Léleknek erejével Galileába: és híre méne néki az egész környéken.
16 És méne Názáretbe, ahol felneveltetett: és beméne, szokása szerint, szombatnapon a zsinagógába, és felálla olvasni.
17 És adák néki az Ésaiás próféta könyvét; és a könyvet feltárván, arra a helyre nyita, ahol ez vala írva:
18 Az Úrnak lelke [van] én rajtam, mivelhogy felkent engem, hogy a szegényeknek az evangéliumot hirdessem, elküldött, hogy a töredelmes szívűeket meggyógyítsam, hogy a foglyoknak szabadulást hirdessek és a vakok szemeinek megnyílását, hogy szabadon bocsássam a lesújtottakat,
19 Hogy hirdessem az Úrnak kedves esztendejét.
20 És behajtván a könyvet, átadá a szolgának, és leüle. És a zsinagógában mindenek szemei ő reá valának függesztve.
21 Ő pedig kezde hozzájuk szólani: Ma teljesedett be ez [az] Írás a ti hallástokra.
14 Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
13 Akkor eljött Jézus Galileából a Jordán mellé Jánoshoz, hogy keresztelje meg őt.
14 János azonban megpróbálta visszatartani őt, és ezt mondta: "Nekem volna szükségem arra, hogy megkeresztelj, és te jössz hozzám?"
15 Jézus így válaszolt: "Engedj most, mert az illik hozzánk, hogy így töltsünk be minden igazságot." Akkor engedett neki.

13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.
14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?
15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.
16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
1 Vala pedig a farizeusok közt egy ember, a neve Nikodémus, a zsidók főembere:
2 Ez jöve Jézushoz éjjel, és monda néki: Mester, tudjuk, hogy Istentől jöttél tanítóul; mert senki sem teheti e jeleket, amelyeket te teszel, hanem ha az Isten van vele.
3 Felele Jézus és monda néki: Bizony, bizony mondom néked: ha valaki újonnan nem születik, nem láthatja az Isten országát.
4 Monda néki Nikodémus: Mi módon születhetik az ember, ha vén? Vajon bemehet-é az ő anyjának méhébe másodszor, és születhetik-é?
5 Felele Jézus: Bizony, bizony mondom néked: Ha valaki nem születik víztől és Lélektől, nem mehet be az Isten országába.
6 Ami testtől született, test az; és ami Lélektől született, lélek az.
7 Ne csodáld, hogy azt mondám néked: Szükség néktek újonnan születnetek.
8 A szél fú, ahová akar, és annak zúgását hallod, de nem tudod honnan jő és hová megy: így van mindenki, aki Lélektől született.
1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
1 Nincsen azért immár semmi kárhoztatásuk azoknak, akik Krisztus Jézusban vannak, kik nem test szerint járnak, hanem Lélek szerint.
2 Mert a Krisztus Jézusban való élet Szellemének törvénye megszabadított engem a bűn és a halál törvényétől.
5 Mert a test szerint valók a test dolgaira gondolnak; a Lélek szerint valók pedig a Lélek dolgaira.
6 Mert a testnek gondolata halál; a Lélek gondolata pedig élet és békesség.
14 Mert akiket Isten Lelke vezérel, azok Istennek fiai.
15 Mert nem kaptátok szolgaság lelkét ismét, hogy félelemben legyetek, hanem a fiúságnak Lelkét kaptátok, aki által kiáltjuk: Abbá, Atyám!
16 Ez a Lélek bizonyságot tesz a mi lelkünkkel együtt, hogy Isten gyermekei vagyunk.
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.
A Szellem három nagy igazsága, a mindenhatóság, a mindenütt jelenvalóság, a mindentudás - a Szellem, amely minden hatalommal bír, minden teret betölt, minden Tudományt alkot - örökre ellentmond a hiedelemnek, hogy az anyag tényleges lehet. Ezek az örök igazságok feltárják az ősi létezést mint Isten teremtésének ragyogó valóságát, amelyben mindazt, amit Ő teremtett, jónak nyilvánít az Ő bölcsessége.
The three great verities of Spirit, omnipotence, omnipresence, omniscience, — Spirit possessing all power, filling all space, constituting all Science, — contradict forever the belief that matter can be actual. These eternal verities reveal primeval existence as the radiant reality of God's creation, in which all that He has made is pronounced by His wisdom good.
Minthogy a valóságos ember Alkotójával a Tudomány által összekötött, a halandóknak csak el kell fordulnia a vétektől, és szem elől kell veszíteniük a halandó ént, hogy rátaláljanak Krisztusra, a valódi emberre, és az ő Istenhez való kapcsolatára, hogy felismerjék az isteni gyermekiséget. The real man being linked by Science to his Maker, mortals need only turn from sin and lose sight of mortal selfhood to find Christ, the real man and his relation to God, and to recognize the divine sonship. Christ, Truth, was demonstrated through Jesus to prove the power of Spirit over the flesh, — to show that Truth is made manifest by its effects upon the human mind and body, healing sickness and destroying sin.
Hacsak az ember harmóniája és halhatatlansága nem válik egyre egyértelműbbé, nem nyerjük el Isten igaz eszméjét, és a test azt fogja tükrözni, ami kormányozza azt, akár az Igazság, akár a hiba, megértés vagy hiedelem, Szellem vagy anyag. Így hát, „ismerkedj most meg Istennel, és légy békében.” Légy éber, józan és körültekintő. Az út egyenes és keskeny, mely ahhoz a megértéshez vezet, hogy Isten az egyetlen Élet. Unless the harmony and immortality of man are becoming more apparent, we are not gaining the true idea of God; and the body will reflect what governs it, whether it be Truth or error, understanding or belief, Spirit or matter. Therefore "acquaint now thyself with Him, and be at peace." Be watchful, sober, and vigilant. The way is straight and narrow, which leads to the understanding that God is the only Life. It is a warfare with the flesh, in which we must conquer sin, sickness, and death, either here or hereafter, — certainly before we can reach the goal of Spirit, or life in God.
Nem bölcs dolog tétovázó vagy átmeneti állásponton lenni, vagy azt várni, hogy egyaránt dolgozhatunk a Szellemmel és anyaggal, Igazsággal és hibával. Csak egy út van - mégpedig Isten és az Ő eszméje - amely a lelki lényhez vezet. A test tudományos kormányzását az isteni Elmén keresztül kell elérni. Lehetetlen a test felett kontrollt elérni bármely más módon. Ezen alapvető pontot illetően teljesen megengedhetetlen a félénk konzervativizmus. Kizárólag az Igazságra való radikális támaszkodás által lehetséges a tudományos gyógyító erő megvalósítása.
It is not wise to take a halting and half-way position or to expect to work equally with Spirit and matter, Truth and error. There is but one way — namely, God and His idea — which leads to spiritual being. The scientific government of the body must be attained through the divine Mind. It is impossible to gain control over the body in any other way. On this fundamental point, timid conservatism is absolutely inadmissible. Only through radical reliance on Truth can scientific healing power be realized.
Amint a halandók helyesebb nézeteket nyernek Istenről és emberről, a teremtés számtalan tárgya, mely addig láthatatlan volt, láthatóvá válik. Amikor tudatosítjuk magunkban, hogy az Élet a Szellem, és soha nincs az anyagban vagy az anyagból, akkor ez a megértés önmagunkban való teljességgé válik, mely mindent megtalál Istenben, a jóban, és nincs szüksége más tudatra.
A Szellem és alkotásai a lét egyedüli valóságai. A Szellem mikroszkópja alatt az anyag eltűnik. As mortals gain more correct views of God and man, multitudinous objects of creation, which before were invisible, will become visible. When we realize that Life is Spirit, never in nor of matter, this understanding will expand into self-completeness, finding all in God, good, and needing no other consciousness.
Spirit and its formations are the only realities of being. Matter disappears under the microscope of Spirit. Sin is unsustained by Truth, and sickness and death were overcome by Jesus, who proved them to be forms of error. Spiritual living and blessedness are the only evidences, by which we can recognize true existence and feel the unspeakable peace which comes from an all-absorbing spiritual love.
Az anyagi érzet hamis bizonyítéka szembetűnően eltér a Szellem bizonyságától. Az anyagi érzet a valóság arroganciájával felemeli hangját és azt mondja:

De egyetlen érintés, egy baleset, Isten törvénye, bármely pillanatban elpusztíthatja békémet, mivel minden képzelt örömöm végzetes. Mint kiömlő láva, saját vesztemre terjeszkedek, és felemésztő tűz fényességében ragyogok.
Én Szellem vagyok. Az ember, akinek az érzékei szellemiek, az én hasonlatosságom. Ő a végtelen megértést tükrözi vissza, mert Én a Végtelenség vagyok. A szentség szépsége, a lét tökéletessége, az elmúlhatatlan dicsőség - mind az Enyém, mert Én vagyok Isten. Halhatatlanságot adok az embernek, mert Én vagyok az Igazság. The false evidence of material sense contrasts strikingly with the testimony of Spirit. Material sense lifts its voice with the arrogance of reality and says:
I am wholly dishonest, and no man knoweth it. I can cheat, lie, commit adultery, rob, murder, and I elude detection by smooth-tongued villainy. Animal in propensity, deceitful in sentiment, fraudulent in purpose, I mean to make my short span of life one gala day. What a nice thing is sin! How sin succeeds, where the good purpose waits! The world is my kingdom. I am enthroned in the gorgeousness of matter. But a touch, an accident, the law of God, may at any moment annihilate my peace, for all my fancied joys are fatal. Like bursting lava, I expand but to my own despair, and shine with the resplendency of consuming fire.
Spirit, bearing opposite testimony, saith:
I am Spirit. Man, whose senses are spiritual, is my likeness. He reflects the infinite understanding, for I am Infinity. The beauty of holiness, the perfection of being, imperishable glory, — all are Mine, for I am God. I give immortality to man, for I am Truth. I include and impart all bliss, for I am Love. I give life, without beginning and without end, for I am Life. I am supreme and give all, for I am Mind. I am the substance of all, because I am that I am.
Az örök Igazság megsemmisíti, amit a halandók látszólag a tévedéstől tanultak, és az ember valós létezése mint Isten gyermeke napfényre kerül. A demonstrált Igazság örök élet. A halandó ember soha nem tud a tévedés ideiglenes törmelékéből, a vétek, betegség és halál hiedelméből, felemelkedni, amíg meg nem tanulja, hogy Isten az egyetlen Élet. A hiedelmet, hogy élet és érzékelés a testben van, annak megértésével kellene legyőzni, hogy mi képezi az embert mint Isten képmását. Akkor a Szellem legyőzte a testet.
The eternal Truth destroys what mortals seem to have learned from error, and man's real existence as a child of God comes to light. Truth demonstrated is eternal life. Mortal man can never rise from the temporal débris of error, belief in sin, sickness, and death, until he learns that God is the only Life. The belief that life and sensation are in the body should be overcome by the understanding of what constitutes man as the image of God. Then Spirit will have overcome the flesh.
Az Elme ura a testi érzékeknek, és le tudja győzni a betegséget, bűnt és halált. Gyakorold ezt az Isten-adta jogot! Vedd birtokba a testedet és kormányozd annak érzéseit és működését! Emelkedj fel a Szellem erejében, hogy ellenállj mindennek, ami nem hasonlít a jóhoz! Isten képessé tette az embert erre, és semmi sem foszthatja meg az embert attól a képességtől és erőtől, amellyel Isten ruházta fel.
Mind is the master of the corporeal senses, and can conquer sickness, sin, and death. Exercise this God-given authority. Take possession of your body, and govern its feeling and action. Rise in the strength of Spirit to resist all that is unlike good. God has made man capable of this, and nothing can vitiate the ability and power divinely bestowed on man.
