5. Hogy a ti hitetek ne emberek bölcsességén, hanem Istennek erején nyugodjék.
12. Mi pedig nem e világnak lelkét vettük, hanem az Istenből való Lelket; hogy megismerjük azokat, amiket Isten ajándékozott nékünk.
13. Annakokáért felövezvén elmétek derekait, ... józanok [legyetek],
14. Mint engedelmes gyermekek ne szabjátok magatokat a ti előbbi kívánságaitokhoz, amelyek tudatlanságotok alatt voltak bennetek;
3. Mert noha testben élünk, de nem test szerint hadakozunk;
4. hadakozásunk fegyverei ugyanis nem testiek, hanem erősek az Isten kezében erődítmények lerombolására.
5. Ezekkel rombolunk le minden okoskodást és minden magaslatot, amelyet az Isten ismeretével szemben emeltek, és foglyul ejtünk minden gondolatot, hogy engedelmeskedjék a Krisztusnak;
5. Your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
12. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

1 Ezek azok a parancsolatok, rendelkezések és döntések, amelyekről azt parancsolta Istenetek, az Úr, hogy tanítsam meg nektek; ezeket teljesítsétek azon a földön, ahová átkeltek, hogy birtokba vegyétek.

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
1 Akkor elvitte Jézust a Lélek a pusztába, hogy megkísértse az ördög.
2 Miután negyven nap és negyven éjjel böjtölt, végül megéhezett.
3 Ekkor odament hozzá a kísértő, és ezt mondta: "Ha Isten Fia vagy, mondd, hogy ezek a kövek változzanak kenyérré."

7 Jézus ezt mondta neki: "Viszont meg van írva: Ne kísértsd az Urat, a te Istenedet!"
8 Majd magával vitte az ördög egy igen magas hegyre, megmutatta neki a világ minden országát és azok dicsőségét,
9 és ezt mondta neki: "Mindezt neked adom, ha leborulva imádsz engem."
10 Ekkor így szólt hozzá Jézus: "Távozz tőlem, Sátán, mert meg van írva: Az Urat, a te Istenedet imádd, és csak neki szolgálj!"
11 Ekkor elhagyta őt az ördög, és íme, angyalok jöttek, és szolgáltak neki.
1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
7 Engedelmeskedjetek azért az Istennek; álljatok ellene az ördögnek, és elfut tőletek.

7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.
1 Akkor farizeusok és írástudók mentek Jeruzsálemből Jézushoz, és ezt mondták:
2 "Miért szegik meg tanítványaid az ősök hagyományát? Amikor ugyanis étkeznek, nem mossák meg a kezüket."
3 Ő így válaszolt nekik: "Ti pedig miért szegitek meg a ti hagyományotokért az Isten parancsolatát?
7 Képmutatók, találóan prófétált rólatok Ézsaiás:
8 Ez a nép csak ajkával tisztel engem, a szíve azonban távol van tőlem.
9 De hiába tisztelnek engem, ha olyan tanításokat tanítanak, amelyek emberek parancsolatai."
10 Ekkor odahívta a sokaságot, és így szólt hozzájuk: "Halljátok, és értsétek meg!
11 Nem az teszi tisztátalanná az embert, ami bemegy a száján, hanem ami kijön a szájából, az teszi tisztátalanná az embert."
15 Péter ekkor ezt kérte: "Magyarázd meg nekünk az előbbi példázatot."
16 Ő pedig így szólt: "Még ti is értetlenek vagytok?
17 Nem gondoltok arra, hogy minden, ami bemegy a szájon, a gyomorba jut, és az árnyékszékbe kerül?
18 Ami azonban kijön a szájból, az a szívből származik, és az teszi tisztátalanná az embert.
19 Mert a szívből származnak a gonosz gondolatok, gyilkosságok, házasságtörések, paráznaságok, lopások, hamis tanúskodások és az istenkáromlások.
20 Ezek teszik tisztátalanná az embert.
1 Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,
2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
10 And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:
11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
15 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable.
16 And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?
17 Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
20 These are the things which defile a man:
5 Az az Elme legyen bennetek, amely Krisztus Jézusban is volt.
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
7 és Isten békessége, mely minden értelmet meghalad, meg fogja őrizni szíveteket és gondolataitokat a Krisztus Jézusban.
8 ami igaz, ami tisztességes, ami igazságos, ami tiszta, ami szeretetreméltó, ami jóhírű, ha valami nemes és dicséretes, azt vegyétek figyelembe!
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 …whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
3 Mert mi vagyunk a körülmetéltek, akik Isten Lelke szerint szolgálunk, és Krisztus Jézussal dicsekszünk, és nem a testben bizakodunk.
4 Pedig nekem lehetne bizakodásom a testben is. Ha másvalaki úgy gondolja, hogy testben bizakodhat, én méginkább:
7 Ellenben azt, ami nekem nyereség volt, kárnak ítéltem a Krisztusért.
8 Sőt most is kárnak ítélek mindent Krisztus Jézus, az én Uram ismeretének páratlan nagyságáért.
10 hogy megismerjem őt és feltámadása erejét,
15 Akik tehát tökéletesek vagyunk, így gondolkozzunk, és ha valamit másképpen gondoltok, azt is kijelenti majd Isten nektek;
16 ellenben amire eljutottunk, aszerint járjunk.
20 Nekünk pedig a mennyben van polgárjogunk, ahonnan az Úr Jézus Krisztust is várjuk üdvözítőül,
3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
4 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:
7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord:
10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection,
15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.
20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
Az isteni Elme az ember lelke, és az Elme uralmat ad az embernek minden felett. Az ember nem anyagi alapon lett teremtve és arra sincs parancsa, hogy anyagi törvényeknek engedelmeskedjen, amelyeket a Szellem soha nem alkotott; az ő hatásköre a szellemi törvényekben, az Elme magasabb jogában van.
The divine Mind is the Soul of man, and gives man dominion over all things. Man was not created from a material basis, nor bidden to obey material laws which Spirit never made; his province is in spiritual statutes, in the higher law of Mind.

…there is but one Mind, and this ever-present omnipotent Mind is reflected by man and governs the entire universe. You will learn that in Christian Science the first duty is to obey God, to have one Mind, and to love another as yourself.

Remember, brain is not mind. Matter cannot be sick, and Mind is immortal. The mortal body is only an erroneous mortal belief of mind in matter. What you call matter was originally error in solution, elementary mortal mind, — likened by Milton to "chaos and old night." One theory about this mortal mind is, that its sensations can reproduce man, can form blood, flesh, and bones. The Science of being, in which all is divine Mind, or God and His idea, would be clearer in this age, but for the belief that matter is the medium of man, or that man can enter his own embodied thought, bind himself with his own beliefs, and then call his bonds material and name them divine law.

As a man thinketh, so is he. Mind is all that feels, acts, or impedes action. Ignorant of this, or shrinking from its implied responsibility, the healing effort is made on the wrong side, and thus the conscious control over the body is lost.

The metaphysician, making Mind his basis of operation irrespective of matter and regarding the truth and harmony of being as superior to error and discord, has rendered himself strong, instead of weak, to cope with the case; and he proportionately strengthens his patient with the stimulus of courage and conscious power. Both Science and consciousness are now at work in the economy of being according to the law of Mind, which ultimately asserts its absolute supremacy.

The physical affirmation of disease should always be met with the mental negation.
Stand porter at the door of thought. Admitting only such conclusions as you wish realized in bodily results, you will control yourself harmoniously. When the condition is present which you say induces disease, whether it be air, exercise, heredity, contagion, or accident, then perform your office as porter and shut out these unhealthy thoughts and fears.
Jobban meg kellene ismernünk a jót mint a rosszat, és ugyanolyan éberen kellene óvakodnunk a hamis hiedelmek ellen, mint ahogyan ajtóinkat a tolvajok és gyilkosok közeledte ellen bereteszeljük.

We should become more familiar with good than with evil, and guard against false beliefs as watchfully as we bar our doors against the approach of thieves and murderers.
If mortals would keep proper ward over mortal mind, the brood of evils which infest it would be cleared out. We must begin with this so-called mind and empty it of sin and sickness, or sin and sickness will never cease.
Sin and disease must be thought before they can be manifested. You must control evil thoughts in the first instance, or they will control you in the second. Jesus declared that to look with desire on forbidden objects was to break a moral precept. He laid great stress on the action of the human mind, unseen to the senses.

Evil thoughts and aims reach no farther and do no more harm than one's belief permits. Evil thoughts, lusts, and malicious purposes cannot go forth, like wandering pollen, from one human mind to another, finding unsuspected lodgment, if virtue and truth build a strong defence.

The exterminator of error is the great truth that God, good, is the only Mind, and that the supposititious opposite of infinite Mind — called devil or evil — is not Mind, is not Truth, but error, without intelligence or reality. … evil can have no place, where all space is filled with God.

It is the spiritualization of thought and Christianization of daily life, in contrast with the results of the ghastly farce of material existence; it is chastity and purity, in contrast with the downward tendencies and earthward gravitation of sensualism and impurity, which really attest the divine origin and operation of Christian Science. The triumphs of Christian Science are recorded in the destruction of error and evil, from which are propagated the dismal beliefs of sin, sickness, and death.

When the divine precepts are understood, they unfold the foundation of fellowship, in which one mind is not at war with another, but all have one Spirit, God, one intelligent source, in accordance with the Scriptural command: "Let this Mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus." Man and his Maker are correlated in divine Science, and real consciousness is cognizant only of the things of God.
